CIA misinformation
The CIA Fact Book
gives the territorial sea limit of the Faroe Islands as 3 nautical miles.
The correct value is 12 miles.

I hate to tell this, but the Cheney administration defines the Faroe territorial sea limit to 0 nautical miles. In fact, if you don't behave and dance their dance, it will be less than zero miles. Ask the Iraqis, Grenadiens, Cubans and Vietnamese about how international treaties are to be understood ...
