Harry Potter abused in Christian propaganda
There has been a special Harry Potter® service in Berg kirke in Fredrikstad, Norway.
I don't know if they had the proper licensing for the trade marks Harry Potter® and Galtvort®. Nor can I see why they would want them, the fight between good and evil is universal, not at all Christian. And magic that is not by God, is considered evil in the Christian belief system, but certainly not at Hogwarts.

Sorry - biometrics are of little use in protecting transactions from a home PC. You can steal the input from a biometric device just as easily as from a keyboard.
While my password is secret, my biometrics are more or less public. My fingerprints are all over the place, my DNA can be picked up from my coffee cup.
I do not use the same password at my bank and on suspect discussion boards. But I only have two eyes, once I have used my retina to identify at one site, that site can impersonate me at another.
While we wait for a total remake of input device security in the operating systems, one-time passwords provide a low-tech, but much safer solution than biometrics. One-time passwords can be stolen by hand, but not wholesale by spyware.

Designkriterier for ei CD-hylle
- Mest mulig av volumet skal være CD'er (ikke luft eller hylle).
- Veggarealet skal utnyttes, dvs at hylla skal være ca 180 cm høy.
- Det skal være lett å få tak i en CD. Ettersom jeg ikke vil ha luft rundt CD'ene, betyr nok det at hylla skal være omtrent en halv cm grunnere enn juvelboksen.
- Det skal være plass til vanlige juvelbokser, dobbeltalbum og bokser, singler og konflutter, og pappomslag om hverandre.
- Det burde være unødvendig å si, men etter å ha sett en del CD-hyller: CD'ene skal ikke ødelegges. Ikke ripe opp juvelomslagene, og ikke lurve til kantene på pappomslagene.
- Platene skal kunne ha fast plass. (Det kan de for eksempel hvis de står oppreist som bøker i ei bokhylle.)
- Platene skal kunne bokmerkes. (Fx ved å trekke dem et par cm ut av hylla)
- Hylla skal ikke skrangle, selv om den står nær en basshøyttaler.
Ei ganske streit bokhylle med de rette dimensjonen ville klare
jobben. Men det er visst ikke utfordring nok for selvbevisste
designere. Det er tydeligvis ikke nok (og heller ikke nødvendig) at
hylla fungerer, den skal helst si B&O
.

Selvsagt er bildet manipulert
Om det er manipulert før eksponeringen (oppstilt) eller etterpå (Photoshop) synes ikke jeg er særlig interessant.
For meg er det viktigere om bildet snakker sant, enn om og hvordan det er manipulert. Jeg har ikke sett originalartikkelen, bildet alene formidler ikke noe politisk budskap til meg, og er sånn sett ikke noen politisk løgn. De eneste forslagene jeg har til tolkninger som kunne være løgn, er:
Da jeg ruslet en tur i skogen, kom jeg tilfeldigvis over en politiker som badet
Solberg har ikke vannskrekk
Jeg er en kløpper til å manipulere vann i Photoshop
Denne besettelsen med at bilder ikke skal manipuleres, bygger på en naiv illusjon om at 'umanipulerte' bilder ikke kan lyve.
Chessmaster for the Xbox
In my innocent attempt to find a chess program for our (PAL) Xbox, I found Ubisoft's Chessmaster
System Requirements:
Supported in Xbox 1-2 player and online multiplayer (online play requires subscription to Xbox Live sold separately)
No problems there, so I happily click Buy Now!

Near the end(?) of the shopping process, I get the choice between United States or Canada.
After some communication with support, the conclusion from techsupport@ubisoft.co.uk is:
There are no chessmaster titles available for games consoles.
