Taste and texture of minke meat

minke whale sits somewhere between beef and fish on the taste and texture scale

I haven't tried the Lucky Pierrot variety. But I'd rather say that color and texture of beef is somewhere between minke and fish. I.e., minke is more beef than beef.

The taste of fresh minke is distinctively marine, more so than seal meat, but not really like fish. However, when minke starts to spoil, it gets very fishy very fast.

Skjr kjttet i serveringsstykker. Skjr klen i skalker. Legg de feteste kjttstykkene i bunnen av kjelen. Legg s kl, kjtt, salt, peper og mel lagvis. Avslutt med kl.

Tilsett vann. Gi friklen et godt oppkok og la den trekke under lokk i ca 1 1/2 time til alt er mrt. Rist p kjelen av og til. Smak til med salt. Dryss persille over like fr servering. Serveres med kokte poteter.

Da mangler vi bare mirin (st sake), fr vi kan sette i gang lage shigure-ni - hvalkjtt kokt i soyasaus og sukker.
